Your virtual book club needs you!

Join the West Essex CCG online group to share your passion for reading with like-minded colleagues…

Do you enjoy reading or burying your head in a good book?

Maybe since lockdown you’ve discovered a new love for reading e-books. In a recent BBC news article, they reported that libraries have seen a surge in online borrowing during the coronavirus lockdown, as the nation seeks escapism and comfort in e-books.

With most of us working from home right now, you may be missing human interaction. Or are you looking for something new to try to stay connected and keep in touch with colleagues?

If this sounds like you, join the CCG’s next virtual book club meeting on Tuesday 26 May, 11am to 11.30am via Microsoft Teams.

This is a great opportunity to get together with fellow book lovers, share stories, a few laughs and read books, which may be outside your comfort zone. Try something different, you might enjoy it!

If you’re new to the organisation, this could be a great way to get to know your colleagues and put faces to names.

The next book up for review is The Little Friend by Donna Tarrt. Followed by these suggestions for the rest of the year:

  • The Memory Book by Rowan Coleman
  • The Hundred Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson
  • Hamnet by Maggie O’Farrell
  • Dear Life by Rachel Clarke
  • Prisoner of Birth by Jeffrey Archer
  • All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doer
  • The Light Keeper by Cole Moreton
  • Everyone Brave is Forgiven by Chris Cleave
  • Leaving Time by Jodi Picolti

If you’re interested in joining the book club, contact Judy Hiscott in the Transformation team. Judy will send you a Microsoft Teams invite to join Tuesday’s group.
