West Essex and Hertfordshire CCGs – senior appointments update

Message from our chief executive, Jane Halpin, on recent Integrated Care System senior appointments…

Dear colleague

Since taking on the role of Accountable Officer for the three CCGs and Chief Executive for our Integrated Care System, I have been leading an internal recruitment process to establish a new joint executive team.

I am pleased to be able to confirm the following appointments:

  • Beverley Flowers will be the Director of Systems Integration and Transformation, making her interim position substantive
  • Dr Rachel Joyce will be the Director of Clinical and Professional Services.

Congratulations to Beverley and Rachel who join those members of the joint executive team who were appointed in June:

  • Chief Finance Officer – Alan Pond
  • Director of Nursing and Quality – Jane Kinniburgh, and
  • Managing Directors for each CCG: Peter Wightman for West Essex, Sharn Elton for East and North Hertfordshire and David Evans for Herts Valleys.

In addition to the above roles I am also pleased to be able to confirm two further senior appointments:

  • Toni Coles will be the Director of Integrated Care Partnership Development for the west Essex area (One Health and Care partnership), and
  • Dean Westcott will be the Director of Capital Planning and Estates for our ICS.

Toni and Dean will report directly to members of the new joint executive team.

The roles of Director of Performance and Delivery and Director of Primary Care Transformation have not yet been filled as part of the internal recruitment process. I will update you about the next steps for these posts in due course.

I will begin the recruitment process for the remaining joint executive team post, that of Director of People and Organisational Development, shortly. This will be advertised within the organisations which make up the Integrated Care System, in the first instance.

Each of our area’s CCGs has been very well served by their previous executive teams and I would like to thank those members of staff who have not yet secured a post in the new structure for their commitment, dedication and years of service to the NHS.

We are working with those involved to explore ways in which our residents can continue to benefit from their skills and expertise, as well as starting to talk with colleagues about how we might adapt other roles to work alongside the new joint executive team.

Please join me in congratulating our newly appointed colleagues. We all look forward to working with you to improve the health and wellbeing of our area’s residents.

Yours sincerely

Dr Jane Halpin
Joint Chief Executive, West Essex and Hertfordshire CCGs and the Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care System
