Welcoming Simon James to his new role

Simon has joined the CCG this month…

Simon James has also joined this week, taking up the role of Primary Care Transformation Lead.

Most recently Simon has worked in Greenwich, South East London directly with general practice and PCNs on primary care development projects and commissioning.

His NHS career started as a computer programmer more than 30 years ago, including a brief secondment to Harlow’s Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Simon lives in Chadwell Heath, with his partner, a University lecturer, and their teenage son, while their older boy is away studying at the University of Warwick and when not at work he is heavily involved in football.

As well as coaching a boys’ football team in Barkingside he is a season ticket holder at Dagenham and Redbridge FC with his youngest son, and enjoys cycling, reading and walking his dog.

“I’m really pleased to be here and looking forward to adding my contribution to the further development of Primary Care Networks in west Essex,” he said.
