The importance of building resilience

We all experience points in our lives where we face challenges, difficulties and issues. The current pandemic doesn’t make these challenges any easier, but we have to develop emotional resilience. Being resilient means being able to adapt and bounce back when something difficult happens in our lives.

Resilience is not just your ability to bounce back. It’s also your capacity to adapt in the face of challenging circumstances. Resilience isn’t a personality trait – it’s something we can all take steps to achieve.

Mindfulness practice is one way of building our resilience in times like this. It enables us to focus on the present and minimise distractions. It’s all about intentional practices to help build our ability to maintain a more positive outlook and cope with stress more effectively.

That’s why we would encourage you to attend our Building resilience training course happening next Thursday (30 July). This webinar will share best tips for:

  • building resilience
  • identifying your mantra for living
  • discussing the dimensions of resilience.

If you’re unable to attend this training, why not check out some short guided meditation videos on the Health and wellbeing support page  on AskHUE.
