Taking time out to be mindful
The first mid-week mindfulness session of the year got off to a hugely successful start.
Following the popular launch event in December, 2021 got off to an equally good start with 19 staff members joining in the first session of the year.
Taking time throughout the day during what continue to be extremely challenging times has never been more important in a bid to beat stress and prevent over-crowded thoughts.
The benefits of mindfulness can include increased empathy and compassion, improved sleep and increased happiness and optimism. Hear the positive impact that these mindfulness sessions have had on some of our colleagues:
“I found the mindfulness session yesterday very relaxing and definitely beneficial. We are all incredibly busy at the moment, but the session was only 10 minutes so in that short space of time it helped to refocus the thoughts. I would definitely attend the session again.”
Jolene Truman
“I really enjoyed the mid-week mindfulness session today. It’s great that WECCG has set up these dedicated sessions for all staff, so people are able to reflect and refresh. It’s so important, more than ever now, to look after ourselves inside and out. Looking forward to the next session already!”
Sharon Crawley
These sessions will now take place fortnightly, on a Wednesday from 12.30pm.
Everyone is invited to the half hour, very relaxed, meetings which are being led by Sue Massey.
The sessions should already be in your calendar. You can access them via the Staff Room area on Microsoft Teams.
