Staff quizmas special a success
Last Thursday evening, eight teams battled it out for nearly three hours at the CCG’s virtual quizmas special.
Keeping everyone in check was quizmaster Rob Gerlis, with Peter Wightman on scoring duties.
The teams, made up of staff, their families and friends, played along during eight rounds, which covered a range of topics including 2020, December, music duos and Christmas cracker jokes. There were also two picture rounds where teams had to identify cartoon characters and famous people from bits of their faces.
After an entertaining night, and closely fought contest, the winning team emerged as Universally Challenged, captained by Steve Gale. Congratulations to Steve and his team: David Wallace, Sue Massey, Theresa Smith, Emma Harnett, Lucy Haughian, Rachael Keene and Anita Root.
In second place were Michelle Bullman’s team, “We get locked down, but we get up again”, who just missed out on the top spot by one and a half points. And in third place were Smarty Pints captained by Lauren Oldershaw.
Here’s where the remaining teams were placed:
- 4th – Kings, led by Dr Shawarna Lasker
- 5th – Quaranteam, led by Naomi Brooks
- Joint 6th – The Vaccinators, led by Beverly Hayward and No Zoom at the Inn, led by Dawn Slater
- 7th – What happens on the boat stays on the boat!, led by Judy Hiscott
Well done everyone and thanks for taking part!
Finally, we’d like to say a big thank you to Rob and Peter for putting on such a fun and festive evening and the Communications team for organising the event.
