Self-care is necessary, not selfish

Self-care is a choice we make to maintain our health and wellness.  It’s often misconstrued as self-indulging or treating yourself to things you don’t need—but caring for yourself now is more vital than ever.

In a nutshell, it’s about being as kind to yourself as you would be to others. It’s partly about knowing when your resources are running low, and stepping back to replenish them rather than letting them all drain away.

Remember that looking after ourselves is on-going practice towards building resilience. Any activity can be made into a form of self-care. It’s all about bringing attention back to you and making this activity into “me time.”
