Safety training opportunities for staff

Become a trained fire warden or first aider…

To make sure we keep everyone who comes to Spencer Close safe, we are looking to train staff who regularly come into the office – or intend to – as fire wardens and first aiders.

Fire warden training

A qualified instructor will carry out this training, to equip staff with the knowledge to undertake responsibilities associated with fire wardens, including:

  • fire detection and warning
  • means of escape
  • the role of the fire warden
  • firefighting equipment, including how to use fire extinguishers
  • fire precaution regulations.

The training takes 2 – 3 hours to complete.

First aid training

We also need:

First Aid Appointed Persons

An appointed person is in charge of first aid arrangements. This includes looking after the equipment, facilities and calling the emergency services.
You will complete the course in less than half a day.

Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)

This qualification, taken over a one-day training session, enables a first-aider to give emergency first aid to someone who is injured or becomes ill while at work.

If you have previously been trained as either a fire warden and / or first aider these courses will serve as a refresher. Depending on the level of interest, any training will either be site based or remote.

To register your initial interest or if you have any queries, please contact Grainne Stephenson by Friday 3 December 2021.
