Take a stand for Active April…

As we continue with Active April, part of our 12 months of healthiness campaign, we look at On Your Feet Britain happening tomorrow (Friday 26 April).

You can take part in this national event, which aims to get office workers up, moving and on their feet during the working day.

Did you know you when standing you burn 50 calories more per hour than when sitting?

On Your Feet Britain challenges you to #sitless and #movemore. Here are some simple changes you can make to reduce your ‘sitting time’. It’s easier than you think:

  • Park your car further away from the building
  • Stand during phone calls
  • Stand and take a break from your computer every 30 minutes
  • Have standing or walking meetings
  • Walk to your colleague’s desk instead of phoning or emailing them
  • Eat your lunch away from your desk
  • Walk into town at lunchtime instead of driving
