NHSmail Skype for Business is transitioning to Microsoft Teams
Find out about the decommissioning of the Skype for Business service and moving across to Microsoft Teams…
This August, NHS Digital is embarking on the next part of their Teams journey with the decommissioning of NHSmail Skype for Business.
What does this mean?
Starting in August and ending on 31 August, all access to Skype for Business will be removed and you will no longer be able to sign in.
Microsoft Teams will be the only supported platform for collaboration, instant messaging and online meetings.
The ability to message and call ‘non-NHSmail’ users from federated organisations will be added to Teams at the end of August.
What do you need to do?
- If you’re not already doing so, ensure you’re instant messaging and calling colleagues using Microsoft Teams
- Make sure you’re using Teams meeting invites when scheduling calls and booking new meetings
- Cancel any Skype meetings still scheduled in the diary
