NHS Birthday – the biggest thank you yet!

We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone at the CCG who got involved in NHS 72 birthday celebrations. It was very different to the normal celebrations we’ve had in the past but it was definitely one to remember. Instead of having the usual events filled with cakes and biscuits, we had something just a little sweeter. We showcased our gratitude to everyone working together to get us through the COVID-19 pandemic so far, by colleagues posting their selfies with the ‘thank you together’ sign to mark the occasion.

The country also got behind the birthday celebrations for one last, loud clap for our carers and key workers. It was definitely a clap filled with much love and appreciation! We even had national landmarks and buildings floodlit in NHS blue.

Though the celebrations were great, we also took the time to reflect and remember those who sadly lost their lives to the virus. The birthday may be over but let’s continue to support and celebrate each other during this pandemic and beyond.
