New health and wellbeing campaign for staff launches

This week, the CCG’s 12 months of healthiness campaign kicked off.

It will focus on the benefits of staying healthy physically and mentally and the positive impact it can have in the workplace.

Our theme this month is Active April, which aims to promote the benefits of getting active to help improve your health and wellbeing.

Tomorrow (Friday 5 April), is national Walk to Work Day. While some of you may live locally and can head in on foot, this would be quite an undertaking for most of us!

Therefore, we’ve renamed this event ‘Walk at Work Day’ or ‘Walk Around Work Day’. Here are some suggestions of how you could get involved:

  • Walk into town at lunchtime instead of driving
  • Go and speak to a colleague face-to-face rather than phoning or emailing them
  • Walk to the café for a cuppa to stretch your legs and get some fresh air
  • Invite colleagues to join you for a walk around the park for extra motivation

Did you know walking briskly for just 10 continuous minutes counts as exercise?

Getting active has many health benefits, which can help to:

  • Boost your energy
  • Clear your head and lift your mood
  • Improve your concentration
  • Get a good night’s sleep

The Communications team get out and about for Active April.

What are you doing to stay active this April? Let the Communications team know, they would love to hear from you.
