Joint Executive Team – senior appointments update

As you know, there have been a number of appointments made to the joint executive team recently, as discussed in Jane Halpin’s recent staff briefing and confirmed in her letter. One of the roles that was not filled initially was that of Director of Primary Care Transformation.

Jane has now confirmed that Avni Shah, the Interim Director of Commissioning for Herts Valleys CCG, has been offered the role. Avni will take up her new position on 1 December. The role will focus on supporting the continued development and transformation of primary care across the Integrated Care System (ICS).

Avni is a pharmacist by profession. She has a Master’s degree in Public Health and has worked in the NHS across acute, community and medicines optimisation teams.

Avni has over 10 years’ experience in commissioning, transformation and procurement across various programmes, initially in London before joining Herts Valleys CCG in 2013.

She is passionate about working collaboratively to redesign end-to-end patient pathways, commission new models of care and transform services across organisation boundaries in order to improve outcomes for patients.

As you may have seen in the recent structure charts, shared by Jane Halpin, Lynn Dalton from Herts Valleys CCG is also taking on a new role – as Director of Primary Care Commissioning and Contracting across the ICS. Lynn will work with Avni within the primary care directorate.

We look forward to welcoming Avni and Lynn in their new roles and getting to know them better over the next few months.
