Jennie’s London Bridge Challenge update
You will have read a couple of months ago that Jennie Knight, one of our senior transformation managers, was taking on the London Bridges Challenge at the end of last month.
Well, you will be pleased to hear she successfully completed it. It took her less than 2 hours and 30 minutes, all the while dressed as a smurf! There are some photos here showing her on the walk and in our image gallery. If you would like to retrospectively sponsor her please visit her JustGiving page.
Jennie took part and raised money following her NHS Health check in April this year. It indicated she was at a high-risk of becoming Type 2 diabetic.
So, with the support of the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme in her area, she has signed up to a nine month behaviour change programme. She’s learned so much already and is on her way to achieving her lifetime goal of taking her out of the high-risk category.
Why not take a quick online test, run by Diabetes UK to check your risk today?
If you are aged between 40 and 74 you are eligible for a free NHS Health Check (like an MOT, but for you!). Look out for your letter from your local GP, or ask them when it is due. The CCG is also holding a NHS Health Check day on Friday 18 October.
