IT upgrade work – impact to staff on Friday 31 May
As part of the continued transition work with our IT provider AGEM CSU, there is an urgent requirement to relocate some of the critical servers and infrastructure to a data centre in Swindon.
This will be happening from the start of business on Friday 31 May to Sunday 2 June 2019
What does this mean for you?
There will be minimal impact to users working in the office on Friday, however there are a couple of services that will not be available that day that could affect you, particularly if you are working remotely:
- Remote Access Solution (RAS – formally known as VPN) – This service will not be available.
- From Friday 31 May to Sunday 2 June you will not be able to connect remotely to any applications e.g. QA or any shared drives e.g. main folders on the S/P Drive
- You will be able to access emails via Outlook and the NHS Portal (https://portal.nhs.net/)
- This may mean, on Friday, you need to come into the office or save any files or folders you are working on in an accessible place, such as your own folders or the desktop.
- Guest Wi-Fi – this service will not be available throughout the duration of the move. However this will be up and running from Monday 3 June. Corporate WiFi will continue to be available for the duration of the move.
There will be testing carried out by your IT Leads over the weekend to ensure that there will be no service impact to you on the Monday morning.
