IT switchover to HBL ICT – reminder to book your appointment
As you should be aware by now, our IT services will transfer from Arden and GEM to HBL ICT on 28 March 2022, ready for the 1 April deadline. The switchover will ensure a consistent and common service is provided across the organisation as a whole.
As part of the IT switchover, you will receive a new laptop. Bookings are open for you to arrange an appointment with an HBL ICT engineer to pick up your new laptop from Spencer Close. It is important you book your appointment and allow an hour to stay with the engineer to set this up as you will not be able to use your current (Dell) laptop from 28 March 2022.
All current COVID guidelines, including those for Spencer Close, will be followed when we support you (whatever your current circumstances).
What does this mean for me?
Please contact the IT switchover team at HBL ICT to book an appointment to come and pick up your new laptop from Spencer Close, Epping, and discuss your needs. Sessions run Monday to Friday on the dates and times below. There are a limited number of time slots offered each day on a first come first served basis.
Dates: Monday 7 March to Friday 25 March 2022
Time slots: 9am | 10am | 11am | 1pm | 2pm | 3pm
Location: Board Room, Building 4, Spencer Close, CM16 6TN
Please note: you will need to stay with the HBL ICT engineer throughout the duration of your appointment, which will last about an hour.
If you have already booked your appointment, please familiarise yourself with what you need to do (see no.2 below) to prepare for your appointment.
What do I need to do?
1. Book your one-hour appointment slot by emailing your full contact details, choice of appointment date and time to enhertsccg.hblictwestessexmigration@nhs.net
– Confirmation of your appointment will be sent to you via calendar invite. If your chosen date and time slot are full, an HBL ICT team member will contact you via email or phone to reschedule your appointment
– If you are unable to attend your agreed appointment for any reason, please notify the HBL ICT switchover team as soon as possible. Make sure you include your full contact details so a team member can contact you to rearrange your appointment.
2. There are a few things you need to do before you come in to pick up your new laptop, as well as bring with you to your appointment.
Before your appointment, you must make sure you:
- have no files saved locally (on the C: drive or desktop) on your laptop. Files on your P: drive will be transferred over automatically
- have exported any bookmarked Favourite websites (following the guides below) and you know the passwords for any website accounts you use
Internet Explorer – Exporting and Importing your Favourite Bookmarks.pdf
Google Chrome – Exporting and Importing your Favourite Bookmarks.pdf
On the day of your appointment, make sure you bring your:
- current laptop and your current laptop login credentials
- current work phone (if applicable)
- NHSmail password and your passwords for Google and/or Apple ID (if applicable)
- passwords for any shared mailboxes you have access to
