Integrated Care System joint executive team appointments

Message from Jane Halpin, our chief executive, on the latest ICS senior appointments…

Following the recent appointment of Simone Surgenor, I am pleased to be able to update on a few other recent developments.

Firstly, Frances Shattock will be joining Hertfordshire and West Essex ICS as Director of Performance and Delivery. Frances brings a wealth of experience having previously worked at NHS England and NHS Improvement as Director of Strategic Transformation. At NHSE/I she was responsible for relationship management and oversight of performance which included four acute trusts, three mental health trusts, one community trust and five CCGs. Prior to that she was Director of Delivery and Improvement at NHSE with oversight of 12 trusts and also worked at Deloitte for a number of years. Frances will be joining the ICS on 1 March 2021.

Harper Brown, who many of you will know from his work at the ICS, has now retired from his Director of Strategy role. I am pleased to confirm that Harper will be re-joining the ICS on 14 December on a part-time basis, as Director of Integrated Specialist Care. Harper will be working on the Mount Vernon cancer centre review and the transfer-in of specialist commissioning from NHSE to the ICS among other projects. He will report to Beverley Flowers, Director of Integration and System Transformation.

I am also pleased to confirm Julie Andrews, former Executive Assistant to Beverley Flowers and more recently Sharn Elton at ENHCCG, has been appointed as ICS Corporate Manager, supporting me and the wider joint executive team.

We intend to advertise both the posts of Director of Digital Transformation and the Director of People and Organisational Development early in the new year.

These appointments will conclude the joint executive team appointments process.
