Happy National Picnic Month!

As part of our Joyful July month, this week we’re celebrating the fact it’s national picnic month. Although the weather is a bit unseasonal with rain and showers forecast over the weekend there is some fine weather due next week. Just in time for the start of the school holidays as well.

So, why not dig out that picnic basket, tupperware (other plastic tubs are available!) and flask and head outside with a rug to eat alfresco. We’ve found some recipes you might like to try.

Spending time with friends or family is usually a recipe for joy and happiness, relaxing in the open air, playing games and generally chatting.

Other benefits include basking in nature, breathing fresh air and enjoying a great view. The pure air invigorates you and leaves you feeling rejuvenated.

Eating lunch outdoors is also a natural mood booster. There’s something about fresh air, sunshine, or a nice breeze that just puts you in good mood.

On the flip side, a picnic isn’t for everyone and for those who don’t like them this article by Jay Rayner may make you smile!
