Getting to know you
Tell us about yourself
My name is Marley Chick, I’m 15 years old and I live in Epping I’ve been doing my work experience at the CCG for 5 days and I also go to Epping St John’s Secondary School. In my spare time I like observing the people around me and seeing what it is I can do to help or either thinking of what I need to do next.
What are you doing this week? What have you been up to?
Here at the CCG I have experienced different areas of work such as the field based side of work, for example going out on care home visits and assessing patients’ medication. I have also been involved in the office-based side of work attending operational meetings.
What is something you have enjoyed so far and what have you learned?
My favourite part of this has been getting the chance to see so many views of work of the people at the CCG but overall I enjoyed the field based work – going out to the care homes for the elderly and assessing their medication and learning new medical terminologies.
What do you hope to gain from the experience?
I didn’t set any targets as I didn’t know what to expect only that I wanted to gain a full understanding of what work is done at the CCG and the processes they go through.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
When I am older I aspire to be a paramedic and in order to achieve this I will be doing a public services course in college and then will be joining the paramedic trust to train, work and then become a fully qualified paramedic.
