Getting to know… Rajeni Bhakar

We caught up with Rajeni Bhakar, the CCG’s new Junior HR Officer, who tells us about her role and what she likes to do in her spare time…

Tell us about yourself

My name is Rajeni Bhakar and I live in Great Offley, Hitchin.

I’ve worked in HR and recruitment for the past three years and have worked for companies such as Easyjet and the Stonegate Pub Company.

Prior to entering the world of HR, I worked as a police community support officer for Thames Valley Police.

What do you do here at the CCG?

I work as a Junior HR Officer supporting all three CCGs (East and North Herts, Herts Valleys and West Essex) as part of the HR and ODL Shared Service. I work with the three HR business partners and Jennifer Brandy, HR Officer.

My main responsibilities are to respond to any queries which come through to the HR Advisory inbox. I act as the first point of contact for any absence, sickness, annual leave and other HR related issues.

What do you enjoy about your role?

I enjoy interacting with and helping staff with HR related issues.

Name one thing you hope to achieve in your role over the next six months

I’m seeking an opportunity to learn about an HR function within the NHS to enable me to progress to a more senior role in the near future.

So we know a little more about you, when you’re not at work what are you most likely to be doing?

I enjoy working out. My favourites are yoga, kickboxing and playing football. I play football as part of a women’s football team in Hitchin.

I actively take part in local politics and I’m standing in the North Hertfordshire district elections this May 2021. I’m also studying an MA in Human Resources Management and I’m currently working on my final project.
