Getting to know… Catherine Cherry
We caught up with Catherine Cherry who tells us about working in the Comms team on work experience and the new animals she has invented…
Tell us about yourself
Hi! My name is Catherine Cherry, I’m 15 and I live in Sawbridgeworth. I’m on work experience at the CCG in the Comms team until Friday. I’m doing work experience here as I wasn’t sure what career path to take and was considering both the business and the healthcare route (or a giraffeologist, but I’ve been told I’ve made that job up!). I’m currently attending Leventhorpe School and am in Year 10. Along with English, Maths and Science I’m currently taking Art, French, Food Tech and Business.
What are you doing this week? What have you been up to?
So far this week I’ve learned about each member of the Comms teams’ jobs. So far I’ve found headlines for the news page and written a news story about Men’s Health Week. On Tuesday afternoon I went to Rainbow for a meeting.
What is something you have enjoyed so far and what have you learned?
I’ve enjoyed meeting everyone and writing the news stories. I also enjoyed finding the headlines and reading the stories.
What do you hope to gain from the experience?
I hope to get a taste of what working is like and to discover the different jobs offered by the NHS.
What are your hobbies, likes and dislikes?
I like to read (This week I have been reading Harry Potter which I can recall weird trivia from) and draw (especially hybrid animals e.g. a peameerguin). I like cooking and baking (Pancakes and Shortbread) and computer games and watching comedy films or stand up. However I dislike Blackcurrants and Mustard.
When you’re not at school, what are you most likely to be doing?
Probably playing games on my laptop or watching a film with one of my sisters. I also like to play with my 3-year-old lurcher dog or invent new games to play with my cat or create a maze for my hamster (we have a lot of animals!) I also have to do a lot of homework (especially art, so my room is covered in art supplies).
Thank you for your help so far Catherine! we are enjoying your bubbly presence in the comms office.
