Freedom to Speak Up Champion

We are pleased to announce David Wallace has agreed to become our Freedom to Speak Up Champion.

As you may be aware Stephen King is our Freedom to Speak Up Guardian but we wanted to have a member of staff, on the ground on a daily basis to help support staff.

David will be an advocate for staff, supporting those who need it, listening to them and being an impartial and non-judgemental person for staff to talk to. He will work with Stephen and share themes and barriers to speaking up within the CCG so solutions can be found and help the organisation create a culture of openness and honesty.

We believe openness and honesty is important, and we are working hard to develop an open, inclusive and collaborative culture. If you, as a member of staff, need to raise a concern we want you to feel that you are encouraged to speak out and supported throughout.

By having our own Freedom To Speak Up Champion the aim is to give staff a wide choice of who they may be most comfortable in speaking up to.  These include your line manager, HR, our Freedom to Speak up Guardian and our Champion, David.
