Flu jab scam
Alert your friends and family to this phone scam…
NHS England and NHS Improvement have informed us of an issue whereby a patient appears to have been the victim of a scam relating to flu jabs.
The patient received a call from a person purporting to be a GP working at their local GP practice. The caller told the patient that for a fee the GP could attend their home to administer the flu jab.
Unfortunately, the patient gave out their bank details and suffered a financial loss.
Please alert your friends and relatives to this scam. If they receive a call from someone claiming to be from the NHS, and asking for payment, they could be a criminal trying to trick them.
Most NHS services are free at the point of use. NHS professionals are very unlikely to ask for fees, such as prescription charges, by phone.
Please tell them not to share any financial information unless they are sure of who they are talking to.
