Encouraging pregnant women to get their COVID-19 vaccine

An increasing number of COVID infections are being reported within pregnant women and maternity. The COVID-19 vaccine is one of the best defences against severe infection, that’s why we must all do our part in encouraging pregnant women to take the vaccine.

This letter from Matthew Jolly (the National Clinical Director for Maternity and Women’s Health) Jacqueline Dunkley-Bent (Chief Midwifery Officer Professor), and Dr Jonathan Leach (Medical Director for COVID-19 Immunisation and GP), details their concerns and the importance of encouraging take-up of the vaccine amongst pregnant women.
