Did Not Attend (DNA) appointments

Did you know there’s been an increase in people not turning up to their appointments?

Both at their GP surgery and Princess Alexandra Hospital. This can end up costing the NHS thousands of pounds and wastes the time of clinicians.

We know life can get in the way and sometimes you may not be able to make an appointment, and that’s fine. However, this is when you should make a call to your surgery or the department you’re due to attend to let them know.

If you cancel your appointment beforehand, rather than not attending, your appointment can be given to someone else who needs it. It also saves time and money if cancelled in advance.

Please encourage your friends, family and neighbours to either attend or cancel their NHS appointments, particularly over the festive period.
