COVID-19 vaccination programme update
Plans on track to be ready for 1 December…
Work to turn buildings 2 and 3 into a COVID-19 vaccination centre is continuing and on track. Building 1 has been cleared and will be kitted out for clinical use.
We don’t yet know when the vaccination programme will begin. Much will depend on which vaccine is approved and when. However, by making sure the centre is ready, we can start the vaccination programme as soon as a vaccine is ready to be rolled out.
We are working with partners on finalising plans for COVID-19 vaccinations for residents and health and care staff across west Essex. Plans are moving fast, so please bear with us.
Over the coming weeks and months we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest news about sites and how you will be able to get a vaccine when the time comes. We will also share some frequently asked questions.
In the meantime, keep checking the COVID vaccination centre page on AskHUE. If you have any specific questions, please email the Communications team.
It’s important to remember that a COVID-19 vaccination will not protect you from flu. If you have been invited for a free flu vaccination please make sure you keep your appointment. If you’re aged 50 to 64 your GP will contact you when they are ready to invite you for your vaccine.
