Covid-19 mental health campaign has launched

Public Health England’s Every Mind Matters has launched a new suite of tips and advice. It focusses on looking after people’s mental wellbeing during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

With many feeling worried or anxious during these challenging times, there are lots of things we can all do to look after our own mental health. We can also help others, to prevent these feelings from becoming more serious.

Every Mind Matters has been developed in partnership with:

  • clinicians
  • academics, and
  • leading mental health charities

It offers authoritative, evidence based and practical support to the general public, as well as people with specific mental wellbeing concerns. Every Mind Matters encourages people to complete a personal Mind Plan, a quick and free interactive tool offering tailored mental wellbeing advice. More than 1.9 million Mind Plans have already been created since the launch in October 2019.

The range of new Every Mind Matters resources, designed specifically to help manage our mental health during coronavirus, include:

  • a tailored COVID-19 Mind Plan
  • COVID-19 specific content for individuals and their loved ones
  • support for specific mental wellbeing issues such as anxiety, stress, low mood and trouble sleeping.

To help get this vital message out there, Their Royal Highnesses’ The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are supporting the campaign. They have narrated a powerful new short film. It is set to be broadcast across National TV channels from Monday 20 April.

The film features a range of people whose lives have been affected by COVID19. It aims to spread the vital message that support is available. It encourages everyone to take care of their mental wellbeing at this difficult time and seek support if needed.
