COVID-19 Counter Fraud newsletter
COVID-19 has meant we’ve had to move into a more digital world. This move to virtual working has presented new and more opportunities for fraudsters.
For these reasons, Fraud Awareness Week (15-21 November) is especially relevant this year. The purpose of this week is to highlight how easy it is to become a victim of fraud and to ‘think globally, act locally’ and join the fight against fraud.
Check out the latest issue of the Counter Fraud newsletter, where you can read about the most recent scams and threats, including:
- an Amazon and DPD phishing email
- fake PayPal emails
- bank-related fraud
It also has information on:
- how to be a fraud fighter
- how to report suspicions of fraud
- how to identify a phishing email
- what to do if you receive cold callers
- useful contacts and websites.
If you have any concerns or questions, please contact Eleni Gill, our local counter fraud manager on 07827 308906.
