Change to our ICS executive team

Dear colleague

I’m writing to let you know about an upcoming change to our Integrated Care System (ICS) executive team.

Hein Scheffer, our Director of Workforce and Organisational Development, is leaving to take up an exciting opportunity with the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST).

Hein has played a key role in our executive team during a time of significant change and his contribution will be sorely missed, particularly his passion and determination to support staff wellbeing and ensure opportunities to develop staff are open to all.

Hein will be joining EEAST in the new position of Executive Director for Strategy, Culture and Education, a role which will put his recent academic studies in cultural change and leadership development to excellent use.

Hein has been a part of the NHS family in Hertfordshire for nearly six and a half years and I know he has truly enjoyed his time at Herts Valleys CCG and the ICS and is very sad to leave, but looking forward to the new challenges that lie ahead.

Hein will remain with us until 31 March 2022, when our organisation officially completes its transition to becoming an Integrated Care Board (ICB). I’m grateful to Hein for his commitment to seeing through the changes here before he moves on. I’m sure you will join me in wishing Hein well for his new role. The process to secure his replacement will begin shortly and I will share news on the outcome of that recruitment when I have it.
