All we want for Christmas is your help

Get involved in the Salvation Army’s annual appeal to give a child a gift this Christmas…

The Salvation Army’s Christmas appeal is back again this year. Their appeal requests donations of toys for children and young people who may otherwise not have anything to open on Christmas morning.

Please think about buying a little something extra for this worthy cause when doing your Christmas shopping.

Toys donated can be for all ages up to 18-years-old, such as the following items:

  • puzzles
  • educational toys
  • books
  • building blocks
  • Lego
  • nice toiletries and craft kits for older children

All donations should be new and unwrapped.

The Salvation Army work with a range of organisations to distribute the toys, including:

  • social services
  • children’s centres
  • voluntary groups
  • Sure Start centres

They identify families most in need of support over Christmas. The families will be local to Harlow and the surrounding villages.

The Salvation Army make sure they distribute the presents to children of the appropriate age and gender. They also wrap all the presents before they’re given out.

If you would like to donate a toy, please contact Claire Cowdery or pop in and see her in Building 4.

Claire is co-ordinating the collection and will take any donations to the Salvation Army on Monday 3 December. Therefore, please let her have your items by Thursday 29 November.
