Integrated Care Partnership (ICP) launch event

The challenges facing our health and care services have never been greater.

A growing and ageing population, problems in recruiting and retaining staff and pressures on funding, are contributing to an unprecedented demand on services.

It’s thanks to the dedication and hard work of the professionals involved, and the support of many thousands of carers and other local organisations, we are getting the help and care we need.

But change must be allowed to happen, and things improved, if we are to protect the health and care services we value so much, not just for now but for future generations.

There are big opportunities to do this by making common-sense changes to how our health and social care services are run, and enable them to work closer together.

It’s why local GPs, NHS organisations and local councils are coming together to plan and redesign local health and care services to benefit us all, now and in the years ahead.

Working as the One Health & Care Partnership, and backed by the leaders of everyone involved, we are combining our expertise and resources to develop ways of giving our nurses, doctors and carers the best chance to look after people.

Building on successes achieved so far to improve services, our partnership includes:

  • Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust
  • Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust
  • NHS West Essex Clinical Commissioning Group
  • Essex County Council

We want to bust the barriers between services and bring them together as one to ensure local people get good quality care when they need it.

But it is not just down to the NHS and local councils.

Many other organisations and people have an invaluable part to play too – the voluntary, housing, education and transport sectors, local businesses and many hundreds of personal carers.

Directly or indirectly, they all contribute to the overall health and wellbeing of the local community.

The Assembly is being launched on Monday 17 June at Harlow Civic Centre.

The launch presentation will run from 1.45pm to 3.30pm, following an Expo and lunch from 12.30pm.

You will hear from the leaders of the partnership’s founding members about their plans and ambitions, and have an opportunity to put forward your ideas on what the assembly could do, and how.

It’s a real opportunity to make a difference.
