Equality Impact Assessment (EIA) training

Assessing the impact on patients of changes in the delivery of care…

No matter what the change is, for example:

  • introducing a new pathway
  • closing or opening a GP practice
  • decommissioning a service
  • introducing restrictions on access to a service
  • moving the provision of a service from secondary to primary care.

The CCG is obliged to ensure we understand the impact the change will have on patients and their carers. In particular, on members of groups defined under Equalities legislation.

From this course, you will learn:

  • how to identify ways in which you can analyse the impact of your proposals
  • how you can gather evidence to support your analyses
  • where you can get support
  • how you can support the decision making process through the development of an EIA
  • All attendees are encouraged to take part and share their own challenges with colleagues.

Paul Curry, Equality and Diversity lead from our HR and ODL team, is running the training session.
